The Tibwin tract, located along Highway 17, is adjacent to the Francis Marion National Forest. This land is less then a mile from Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge and will serve as a wildlife corridor joining the National Forest and the Refuge. This tract of land was under intense pressure for development before the Conservation Bank funds helped secure its preservation. The development would have allowed for 36 separate lots which would have fragmented the National Forest and severely degraded its unique ecological features.
A map for the Tibwin Tract has been provided in Google Map format.
